The original cut has become an instant favourite. The film is sweet but not saccharine; the characters are all lovable and memorable, and while it is more a rose-tinted look back at a certain time rather than anything resembling real life, it is still nostalgia of the highest order, that displays a genuine love of cinema.
A classic that pays homage to the classics that came before it.
