Review of Cinema Paradiso (1988) by Matthew F. J — 03 Nov 2014
Tornatore delivers once again a near masterpiece of film making and probably one of the most beautiful love letter to cinema. a film filled with beauty, memories of cinema and filled with passion and love like we rarely have the opportunity to see it today in modern films.
This film reminded me of my own early passion for films and my curiosity towards film making. The characters are very well written and even though the film is quite long, it remain a fascinating piece of cinema like only Italian directors know how to do.
This is the kind of classic film one must have seen if they want to call themselves film buffs. Wonderful from start to finish.... a story that will stay with you long after the light is back and the final generic is done.
... Il cinema e como la vitta , la vitta e como il cinema....
