Review of Cinderella (2013) by Brodie A — 14 Jul 2015
I don't care how many Cinderella movies there are. I will see every single one. The newest Cinderella did not disappoint. Cate Blanchett is one of my favorite actresses and she stars as The Wicked Stepmother. She is perfectly cruel and absolutely stunning. Helena Bonham Carter brings her quirkiness as The Fairy Godmother. The evil stepsisters are as annoying as ever. I absolutely loved all of the graphics and little creatures. Anytime I found the goose in a shot I had to supress a giggle. Oh and the prince. Ah, the prince. Richard Madden, our Robb Stark. Our Dire Wolf. He simply was not allowed a life of love and marriage. Well, have no fear Robb. You will have Cinderella and all her little critters. Lily James was a wonderful Cinderella. Er, Ella. She is graceful and kind and a wonderful fit.
I'm still a sucker for Ella Enchanted and Ever After but Cinderella may be something I enjoy watching more than them in the future.
