Review of Cinderella (2013) by Panos Y — 13 Aug 2017
Cinderalla... But Not To Disney.
Things I liked about this movie:
--> I have never seen the lead actess who played Cinderalla in anythjng else, but I was pleased by her performance. I think she nailed it without going over the too.
--> Cate Blanchett, she us good in most of her movies but I appreciate how she added some depth to the character. Movie wouldn't have been the same without her.
-->Â Depth of characters - Your stepmother isnt born evil, she becomes that way for a reason. In this movie they actually gave one.
Things I didn't like about the movie:
The Message - I have never gotten over how Disney essentially teaches little girls from a very toung age that they are essentially incomplete until they find a prince. If it were just one movie I would be ok with it but they revisit this topic over and over again.
When its all said and done this is a good movie that can be appreciated by people old and young. Disney just needs to work a little more on empowering young women.
