Review of Cinderella (2013) by Graham B — 15 Jun 2015
In an age of rehashing fairy tales to throw a different take on them, Kenneth Branagh brings us a refreshingly traditional take on the classic story. Thankfully he gives Ella a bit more agency, but all the bases are covered very well.
It's a well told tale, but it is told just as well here. Great art design, elaborate costumery, decent acting. It's an enjoyable ride. Plenty of frills, great casting, all the bases covered. It's nothing to praise aloft, but it is a well told tale well told.
