Review of Chinatown (1974) by Blake B — 29 Jul 2013
You know what I noticed half way through-out this film? Nicholson doesn't have a gun. THAT is one of the many wonderful elements that make this film outstanding. Everything you see in this movie is being seen through the eyes of Jake Gittes, you follow him every step of the way.
Instead of going on a bunch of shoot outs and having punches thrown, Gittes has to be smarter than the average detective movie and weasel his way out of every predicament. As I said, that is one of the many elements that make this movie great.
See it.
