Review of Child's Play 2 (1990) by James P — 04 Jan 2013
The tension and chills of what made the first Chucky film good aren't in this camp sequel, you're more likely to be chuckling than creeped out in CHILD'S PLAY 2. In this film, the mystery aspect is gone, because you know that straight away the murders are happening because of the killer doll, whereas in the first it seemed it was likely to be Andy.
But straight away in this film, the audience is shown that Chucky's the lunatic. Chucky's back again in an attempt to possess young Andy's body, so the film feels like it's a rehash of the first, but CHILD'S PLAY 2 is worth seeing for the big climax in the Good Guy Doll factory alone, which is energetic, thrilling and a bit gory.
