Children of Men manages to delicately balance its kinetic thrills with emotional and political drama. Props go out to Alfonso Cuaron's direction, the performances of the actors, Emmanuel Lubezki's groundbreaking cinematography, strong dialogue and the long cuts employed by Cuaron and fellow editor Alex Rodriguez.
