Review of Children of Men (2006) by Parker S — 26 Jun 2012
This movie succeeds in every way. From a scifi action movie to a drama, this movie is simply interesting. The movie takes place in a very realistic world in ruins setting where civilization is falling apart and London is the only somewhat enforced and civil city.
Anyone outside of London is an immigrant and are kept in cages and basically, the world is screwed without children. Its thought provoking, well acted, gritty and you could see this happening in real life sometime in the future.
The camera work, where it is hand held and shaky, works well and furthers reinforces the realistic atmosphere. The story stands tall too. It is enthralling and keeps your attention as a whole, and again I love this movie!
