This is the best post-apocolyptic movies ever made. This is one of the best displays of film-direction I've ever seen in the modern era. This film (and, to a lesser extent, Gravity and Prisoner of Azkaban) is why Cuaron is firmly in my top three favorite directors.
Kubrik popularized the long cut, but Cuaron perfects it.
