Review of Child of Sorrow (1956) by Erik N — 27 Jan 2011
The Ruins is quite different from most horror movies in that the enemy isn't a madman or a virus. It actually made me feel sick, and any film that manages to do that deserves massive credit. There's a certain Day of the Triffids element to it, but these plants are much more sinister than the Triffids.
Hell, they make Triffids look like roses. It will disgust you, it will worry you, and it will damn well entertain you.
