Review of Chicago 10 (2008) by Corinne F — 29 Sep 2008
I truly loved this movie. Barring the fact that I wrote a 17 page paper on the Demonstration itself and the events in the previous year leading up to it, it was a completely enjoyable and eye opening experience.
I had briefly read the trial transcripts but this brought a whole new dimension to the whole ordeal. I wish they would have showed a little more of the antics in the courtroom, that would have showed more of the nature that the main defendants did not take the trial very seriously.
I also liked how they did focus a bit on Bobby Seale's situation and how he was handled in the courtroom. It was a real experience watching the live footage and I think they did a good job with the animation and creative license on some parts.
Definitely a movie I am going to buy and one worth watching if you have not seen it. It is also worth noting that there are some very similar parallels in the political atmosphere in our time now, (ie.
the war). Where do we go from here?
