Review of Chicago 10 (2008) by Colette B — 21 Oct 2008
I just watched this movie on PBS, and it really resonates in light of the events at the Republican convention this year. Many of the same repressive tactics were used by law enforcement in St. Paul, but it seems like they took it one step further.
Law enforcement moved to prevent coverage of the repression by journalists. I suppose the media coverage of the 1968 convention demonstrations heavily influenced that decision. Unfortunately, corporate media was all too happy to play along in ignoring protests.
I enjoyed the movie, but I do wish more could have been shown about Bobby Seale. Maybe footage wasn't available.
