Review of Che: Part One (2008) by Prince C — 26 Jul 2011
Filmed in Spanish, the movie amply chronicles the story of Argentine born philosopher & revolutionary, Ernesto "Che" Guevara, and his bonding with Fidel Castro to overthrow dictator Baptista of Cuba. Guevara despised the poverty and substandard conditions of South America and viewed it as a consequence of imperialism/capitalism of US. Director Soderbergh and Actor Benicio Del Toro created the best biopic I've ever seen. The fact that Del Toro did not get an oscar for this performance was a joke, but then the Academy also snubbed "A Bridge Too Far". Long story short, you'll either hate or love Guevara after watching this film.
Memorable quote:
Accused: "I want everyone to know that I asked for a Priest".
Commandante: "Fire"!
