Review of Chasing Ice (2012) by Kris K — 14 Jun 2013
Another alarming portrait of the devastating effects of climate change. This film clearly documents glacial recession in Greenland, Iceland and Montana over a period of a few years. And what the filmmakers captured is frightening. And yet, it's played out over a landscape that is as beautiful as ever. The cinematography is beyond exceptional, though it must not be difficult to find beauty in these frozen landscapes. There is plenty of ugliness too, though.
And the juxtaposition of the good and the bad is what really makes an impact here. A must see for anyone who cares about the planet they live on.
