Review of Chasing Ice (2012) by Ian G — 28 Nov 2013
The audience award winning film from Hot Docs 2012 that focuses on climate change, specifically the deterioration of the glaciers in the northern hemisphere is as scary as it is breathtaking to behold.
Shot over a series of years starting in 2007, photographer James Balog captures stunning stills and footage in Iceland, Greenland and Alaska to help show the amount of decline that has taken place to bring to the worlds community in the hopes of spearheading change.
A great companion piece to the recently released the Cove in the recent trend of films focusing on environmental issues that equally show the beauty of the world and the brutality of humankind sometimes in reacting to it.
A must see. Breathtaking.
