At one point in time this movie saved my life. Not on a literal term, but the meaning behind it came at an exact time I needed to hear it.

My friend George, which I dearly owe my life for letting me borrow this movie, found out I'd never seen it. Came to the mall the next day with it in hand and said Watch This. When I got home, I popped it in and sat in sincere disbelief as to what this movie was about. Everything I needed to hear was right there. I was expecting a comedy and it was beyond that.

It was the perfect plot except in my terms the roles were reversed. Affleck's character, confusion, frustrations were everything I'd been through and continue to. It's not a happy ending for either love birds, but you understand. It's sad to see them in that manner, but you realize, life goes on for the both of them.

A lot of people take it as a heterosexual relationship meets a homosexual relationship, which I get, but by no means is what the movie meant to me.

It's a story of can friends be more? It's a story of can this work knowing what you know? You find stories that horrify you from past relationships/encounters and feelings get hurt, either way when you really care for someone. Can we let go of the past and move on happily? Or will it damper everything you have? How can you put trust when you hear words on the street? You see how damaging past experiences can be to current situations and there is really nothing you can do about it except accept it. Friends constantly watch us go through relationships and watch the good, bad, happy, sad moments and give advice as to what we need to do. Do we listen or block them out? Can we get past our own doubts and make this work? Will our friendship ever be the same?

Every goddamn relationship on the face of the planet has had it's Chasing Amy moment. Kevin Smith had a point and he made it clear. If you've been in a relationship, have questions, have doubts, watch this flick. It may answer them.

Fantastic Movie.
