Review of Charlotte Gray (2001) by Rod S — 30 Apr 2007
Romantic drama. Set in 1942 and WW2 - Charlotte Gray very ably played by Cate Blanchette, falls in love with pilot who goes missing in occupied France. Charlotte becomes secret agent and goes to France with her own agenda of finding her RAF officer but whilst with the French resistance she learns the bitter sweet realaities of war and outcomes of her actions being life or death, she also learns that her RAF pilot is dead.
On returning to London and 6 months later her RAF pilot appears as the report of his death was in fact mistaken identity. However her heart is now in France and she returns to her Resistance lover. A great romance - must be my feminine side.
