Review of Charlie Wilson's War (2007) by Kart O — 31 May 2010
Soviets kill Afghans, Americans want to help Afghans but cannot do it openly so they buy Soviet weapons from Israel and Egypt to hand on covertly to the mujahedin (which will a bit later turn the same guns on Americans, but this in not part of the story anymore).
Interesting film with a very funny main character and Philip Seymour Hoffman giving a superb perfomance in the supporting role.
