Review of Chapter 27 (2007) by Brendan T — 18 Jun 2008
The first thing that struck me about this movie was how annoying the voice was that Jared Leto was putting on for the role of Mark Chapman. The second thing that struck me was how fucking annoying the character was.
The film follows Mark Chapman on the final few days leading up to the murder of John Lennon. The problem with that is that Mark Chapman was mentally ill in a dull and boring way. I found myself looking forward to the end after 25 minutes.
The film was full of clichéd lines and situations, it was really quite pathetic. A lot of people didn't like this film because they felt it was glorifying John Lennon's killer in a way, making him more famous when he should be forgotten.
I just didn't like it because the guy was an uninteresting loser that had no redeemable qualities and should not have had a movie made about him.
