Jared Leto clearly wants to channel the transformative commitment (aka fatty fatty fatness) of a Robert DeNiro or Daniel Day-Lewis. The director seems dedicated to simulating an Oliver Stone fever dream.
Neither is successful. Every aspect of this movie feels amateurish and a little pathetic.
