Review of Chapter 27 (2007) by Ashley T — 05 Jan 2010
Leto has an amazing performance in this movie, the transformation is just mind-blowing. This movie definetly tries (and succeeds, in my opinion) to capture the inner-workings of a man in the grips of mental illness.
Most of this movie's narrative is internal, and Leto narrates this movie with amazing prose, the narration is key to the movie. If you aren't familiar with Mark David Chapman or John Lennon's murder, you may not particularly care for this movie, you may find it slightly boring.
But anyone can appreciate the effort and performance that Jared Leto put into this, it definitely looks like he put effort into studying the mannerisms and physical appearance of Chapman to play this role.
