As a running fan of Neill Blomkamp's previous two sci-fi movies, I hoped Chappie would be good but wasn't too thrilled from the previews. I was pleasantly surprised. Chappie isn't as good as District 9 by a long shot, but it was far better than I expected.
While it recycles many A.I. concepts that have been explored before, Chappie is entertaining and just plain fun right up until its thrilling last act that really questions the nature of consciousness and soul.
If you're a sci-fi fan you should check this one out!
