Review of Chappie (2015) by Mark B — 10 Jul 2015

Blomkamp is a master visualist (and a fantastic action director) but not so great when it comes choosing strong scripts. Here we have another one riddled with short-comings and an overly simplistic plotline that he beats you senselessly with starting 20 minutes in and then right up until the credits start rolling.

Again, there is a lot to look at that's beautiful (just like "Elysium"), but not much for your brain to gnaw on. And honestly, this should have been 20 minutes shorter. The third act drags worse than Jacob Marley's chains.
