Review of Chappie (2015) by Davy V — 26 Dec 2015
Unlike appearently a lot of others, I really liked this movie.
Offcourse the movie wasn't completely refreshing or new, but honestly, which movie is nowadays??
So many have been made and it's virtually impossible to come with something completey new or innovating.
AVATAR was soooo great according to critics and the viewers, well, I TOTALLY DISAGREE with that.
That being said, I really liked District 9 and I really felt the same vibe throughout the movie Chappie.
Also the way Chappie "evolves" from a babie to "teenage gangsta" was quite cool to me.
I also liked the gangsta-chick who evolves to a mother and the "husband" who starts as a complete ass but changes to the end...
I liked that a lot, eventhough it's a big cheesy, and not so surprising.
The end is a quite happy one, and to be honest, chappie deserves to be happy.
I guess Neill Blomkamp has a certain way of directing that I like, cause I even liked Ellysium, just cause it had a certain vibe in it.
