Review of Chappie (2015) by Jeff C — 05 Aug 2015
The problem with this film is that it's robocop. It's short circuit. Heck, it's even short circuit 2. And the director has even begun to copy himself after district 9 and Elysium. It's not a bad movie - chappie himself is a great piece of acting from sharlto Copley- but it's just so jarring in its direct lifting from other movies.
The only part that works well is when it's being original. And that sadly isn't very often.
