Review of Chappie (2015) by Mrvictor — 28 Jun 2015
Really stunned at the negative reviews by the critics. I watched this not knowing much about it other than the occasional commercial and expecting the typical action flick with little to no story. I found a realistic and thought provoking take on how AI could come into this world and what might happen.
I felt all the acting was solid and the story kept me guessing up until the end. The voice acting for Chappie was spot on and the South African setting and accents lent this movie some originality and grittiness.
I felt the story really came to a head when Chappie is talking with Deon his "maker" and asks why did you make me just to die? I would love to hear what Roger Ebert would have thought of this film he was the only critic I ever really respected, God bless his soul.
