It had some potential - not a bad director and all the involved actors can certainly carry their own weight. But the plot undermines things by unnecessary use of cliches, particularly the ending is burdened with it.
It is rushed and what is meant to be a cathartic moment actually ends up undermining the overall tone of the movie. So in the end, it's kind of a meh.
