Review of Cemetery Junction (2010) by Jessica S — 04 May 2010
Everything about it is solid, the acting, the direction and it's funny in places. The problem is that thematically it's all the same message about how to live Gervais has been preaching for years, and while he's gotten better at diagnosing symptons his 'solution' is still no more sophistidcated than 'get on a train & be different', which as an idealogy won't stand up to even mildly serious criticism.
The un-pc ironic humour is also wearing thin and is supisicously close to losing what irony it still has.
