Review of Cemetery Junction (2010) by X X — 05 Sep 2010
One of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's greatest strengths as storytellers is their eye for what is fleeting and what is timeless. As with The Office and Extras, their first feature film together reflects that same ability to explore ageless themes in a specific time and place, and while this project is no more ambitious than or a departure from their earlier efforts, it stands along side them as another tasteful piece of writing, directing, acting and general craft.
