Review of Cats Don't Dance (1997) by Androgynous M — 08 Jun 2012
Loved this movie. Loved how it was drawn and especially loved the part in the alley when they were all 'brought to life' with a new striking palette of colors. Only recently watching it did I notice it was taking place in the 40s.
There are also cameos and references to many famous films of the era, such as Wizard of Oz (Toto the dog) , and King Kong (who else?) ... Scott Bakula sang pretty well, as did the other cast, but it wasn't an in-your-face-this-is-a-musical-movie kind of way, like how Disney does it.
