Review of Catch-22 (1970) by Ed M — 05 Jun 2007
For those who read the novel, this is a must see...the translation is pretty faithful...which actually does more harm than good. The non-linear text provides the film with too many jumps and not even devotion to each character.
..and literally every character in the book is on screen. As a result, the film feels like a 2 hour trailer. Still, it's worth a view for the cast and especially Alan Arkin, who embodies Yossarian in and out.
