Updated for an 80's movies style, this version of the 1942 movie tries to go more for sex and full-frontal nudity to cover up a so-so story, a lack of chemistry between the two leads, and a back-story that's only there to match with the supernatural scene so prevalent in New Orleans.
Sorry, but I'll go with the original. At least Simone Simon was attractive.
