After a slow start, the terrific make up effects and Kinski's ample nudity maintain a level of interest. I always assumed it would be a bit more stylized than it was, although there are some great visuals.
The cast performs admirably and the Moroder soundtrack (with David Bowie song) is amazing. A mixed bag of tricks.
