Review of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) by Allan C — 16 Dec 2012
A rather sanitized adaptation of the Tennessee Williams play that excises any homosexual subtext and then also adds a happy ending. However, the drama remains highly engaging and is never dull, mostly thanks to great performances and chemistry between Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor.
With lesser actors, this could easily have been simply a standard Hollywood soaper.
