Before I saw this movie Burl Ives was the snow man from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and the too kind for his own good store owner from Summer Magic (Disney don'tcha know). I had no clue how good the man could be at playing a dirty old sonofabitch.
Paul Newman has never been better or more beautiful (like a freakin' Greek God) and this is truly Elizabeth Taylor at her best. This is one of my all time favorites.
