Review of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) by Conor W — 04 Jun 2008
Until last night it had been many years since I had seen this movie, while I was struck by the quality of the writing and Newman's performance in particular, I was astonished at how terrible a lot of the acting was, especially Taylor's - it seemed to me that her performance would have been more at home on the stage than in front of camera.
Still and all this movie stands up as a testament to Tennessee William's writing, his insights into relationships ring every bit as true today as I am sure they did in the 1950's.
