Review of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) by Jimmy L — 11 Feb 2009
One of Paul Newman's firsts as a serious actor. The story is rather suburban and dry as dialogue is shown through a long extension of character development. Lizzy Taylor is absolutely a knock-out in this film, both visually stunning and a craftswoman in her art.
Fiery, Classical Hollywood Realism, extremely formulaic and original from which many films imitate the characteristics of this short-lived era. A classic gem, guys=).
