Review of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) by Devon B — 09 Jan 2010
There was a lot of yelling in 'Cat.' That is the biggest part of this movie. Don't get me wrong Liz, Paul, and Burl can yell all they want and I'll still watch their movie, but because of all the yelling the characters became more one-dimensional.
The best acting was done by Mr. Burl Ives as Big Papa. The script for the movie was changed from William's play so much that the main point of Brick's homosexuality was just lightly mentioned to almost being completely ignored.
This was an OK movie with very good actors, but the material they were given was nothing special.
