Review of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) by Kim B — 08 May 2011
The film that helped make Newman and Taylor stars. It has the same nasty verbal banter as Glengarry Glen Ross. It's not a pleasant film to watch but the cathartic ending makes it all worth it. It's really all about family and it's a definitive theatrical film.
Williams' play is the real star here but the actors bring it to life with sheer perfection. The honesty in the film paved the way for 60s movie-making.
