Review of Casualties of War (1989) by Alexander F — 19 Aug 2010
I have been looking for this one from 1989. I had just seen The Untouchables and having bought Leonard Maltin's I went on to check everything a local video store in Bareilly had by Brian De Palma. The long wait does weigh heavily but somewhere with 30 odd ears of experience one knows how to see a film with expectations coming in the way.
The war sequences are awesome. Sean Penn is in top form and so are many others (John O Reilly). Ennio Morricone's score pumps power in a few sequences but then its not a great film.
