Review of Casualties of War (1989) by Harry W — 26 Nov 2013
The horrors of the war are truly brought into perspective in Casualties of War. Michael J. Fox astounds me with a mature peformance after so much teenage-driven cinema, and Sean Penn freaked me out. The events that transpired here were horrible, but the film's depiction of them were excellent. After seeing this film, I no longer became disturbed at the sight of films such as A Clockwork Orange or Poltergeist.
It's incredibly dissappointing that this film failed at box ofice, and again it display's Brian De Palma's talent but string of ups and downs.
