A good effort by DePalma weakened by only two things - Sean Penn's often-annoying, sometimes over-the-top performance as Miserve and my inability to buy Michael J. Fox as a soldier. I look at him and I see Alex P.
Keaton (hence why I didn't watch him on Spin City). I never thought he was movie star material. Quite awesome on TV but never have I bought him as leading man in a movie. Otherwise the film is shocking, effective, frightening, gripping and truly sad.
