Review of Cast Away (2000) by Benjamin B — 23 Jan 2015
I'll save you some time:
1. We see a dope who spews poster-level motivational platitudes.
2. 60-minute FedEx commercial.
3. 45-minute Wilson commercial.
4. 10 minutes of the heartbreaking story of a man who has returned from the dead to find that his true love has hidden (but not forgotten) her soul's desire for him in order to marry some second-rate schmuck. They must now come to terms with the lifelong loss inflicted by the tragedy of one day.
6. No, fuck that. He's still a platitude-spewing dope, she decides to keep her mundane life.
7. 10-minute FedEx, Wilson, and Ozark Water commercial rolled into one.
Fin.
