Review of Cast Away (2000) by Tor M — 27 Aug 2018
Huge, huge film from 2000, but it took med 18 years to see it. The plot is known to everyone - a guy that survives a crash as the only survivor and finds himself stuck at an island for a unknown period of time.
Tom Hanks is great here and there's natually mostly him we see here. I like the little stuff like the FedEx-box, the skates and of course Wilson. This is a very long film but I never found it dragged. I never felt very uplifted or super interested either, it felt more like a long, chill story about a very impressive person.
I found it to be a nice film, but nothing truly special. Sure the plot is bound to be a success, the acting, the music and the direction is all good.
6 out of 10 old clocks.
