Review of Casshern (2004) by Clint E — 11 Jul 2008
I have seen very few movies with the level of wasted potential that Casshern has. There is some of the most beautifully shot and well constructed CGI of any film I have ever seen in this flick, yet very little of it makes sense.
Most of the movie plays like a live action anime movie, with the hero doing incredible and unrealistic stunts and martial arts moves around outlandish backgrounds, but even that is hampered by the amaturish camera direction and inability to maintain the pace of a fight.
The story is unnecessarily confusing, especially toward the end, where there are 5 separate factions vieing to win out the day.
