Review of Cassandra's Dream (2007) by James G — 03 Aug 2008
Many have already noted that in this film Woody Allen revisits material better explored in 'Match Point' and 'Crimes and Misdemeanors.' Those films, however, do not focus so much on the moments following the murders that each deals with, which makes this one worth viewing.
In the previous films Allen seems convinced that oft-unquestioned moral limits can in fact be overstepped with relative impunity; here he seems to be exploring the way in which the family, certainly a more natural tie than is present in the other films, can both provoke and limit transgression.
