Review of Cashback (2007) by Patric C — 12 Aug 2011
Cashback is every teenage boys ultimate dream and fantasy. Wouldn't we all want to stop time? He is able to stop and first uses it to undress women...
Many say that there is too much nudity and uder-developed characters. I disagree, there can never be enough nudity, what is so bad about nudity, I enjoy it in my films - unless I'm watching film with parents.
The under-developed characters story is ridiculous. I thought the caharcters were well developed and acted. They did a lot better than most films today.
The protaganist is a likeable character, and his flashbacks, although sometimes inappropiatly comical, are well done and placed. The use of the supermarket and characters in the supermarket are well done.
There is a reason why it is 80% and not 90% or 100%. Well the reason for the ability was a bit odd, passable, but not great, not that I can devise an idea on way someone could stop time. The time when he discovers other time-stoppers, but does nothing about it, I thought that he was unusually calm for the situation and it should have had benn investigated by him further. Another problen I faced was the ending. I thought the love story, especiallt the end was too generic and predictable. It may just be me, but I don't really enjoy films that have a plot based entirelly on a love story. So the ending was really corny and horrible, but those who love romantic comedies would enjoy it.
The film uses clever observatin on mostnage boys/some girls/some hermaphrodies to create an interesting film.
