Review of Carol (1970) by Ming Siu G — 26 Dec 2015
A beautifully lush yet restrained melodrama (an oxymoron, I know), that has actors performing at the top of their game. However, it didn't completely captivate me (I myself don't quite know why), and I wonder if the deliberate choice to shoot on grainy 16mm film was part of the reason.
