Review of Carnival of Souls (1962) by Lafe F — 06 Jul 2007
A nightmarish experience captured on black and white film!
A woman loses her sense of belonging and moves away to a strange town, where she attempts to start a new life.
She has several eerie spectral encounters with white-faced beings at various points throughout the movie; it's creepy. She seeks help from a psychiatrist, but keeps having strange visions. This movie is effective, as a scene shift unexpectedly from being ordinary to total horror; it jarred me several times.
The answer lies at the "Carnival of Souls", a haunted pavillion out in the countryside.
A great spooky as heck little movie which is a classic horror flick.
